Objectives
To investigate socio-contextual determinants of health and functioning among immigrant and non-immigrant youth attending similar schools and living in similar socioeconomic circumstances and communities
Methods
A cross-sectional, population-based study of 1,450 immigrant and non-immigrant youth aged 10-14 years, their primary caregiver, and educators from 36 schools across Hamilton, ON.
Implications
Evidence arising from the HYS is being used to set priorities for resource allocations and inform the development of programs that are commensurate with the needs of immigrant, refugee and English Language Learner students in our community.
