Developing a Set of Constructs, Measures, and Processes for School Mental Health Interventions

Information Box Group

Objectives

To work with youth and experts to co-create a set of constructs, measures, and processes for measurement in school mental health care.

Methods

A series of focus groups and surveys to gather feedback from youth grades 5-12 and school mental health experts about:

  1. What to measure (i.e., what questions should clinicians ask students)
  2. How to measure (i.e., what tools clinicians should use)
  3. When to measure (i.e., when these tools should be filled out), and
  4. How to use the information from the measures (e.g., how clinicians can share and talk
    about the scores with youth).

Implications

The evidence from this study will serve as a foundation for implementing measurement-based care in school mental health services in ways that are meaningful to youth and clinicians.
