AYM Staff Member Begins CCAP Program at the University of Guelph

Congratulations to Kate Jamieson for her acceptance into the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (CCAP) Program at the University of Guelph! Kate will begin her first year in the CCAP Program in September 2025, working under the supervision of Dr. Kristel Thomassin in the Child Emotion & Mental Health Lab.
Kate currently holds a Bachelor of Integrated Science (Honours) with a concentration in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behavior from McMaster University.
Kate Jamison has worked with various members at the Offord Centre for Child Studies since 2020, focusing on child mental health and service use. She joined the AYM team as a research coordinator in 2024, supporting a number of projects, including school mental health research and the Canadian Longitudinal Health Survey on Children and Youth (CHSCY). Kate has brought instrumental expertise in mixed methodology, youth engagement, and community-engaged research and we’ve greatly enjoyed getting to know her on the team.
As she prepares for this next chapter of her academic journey, Kate reflects on her experiences at the Offord Centre and with AYM:
“I am so grateful to have been able to learn and grow at the Offord Centre, surrounded by a supportive community of researchers, trainees, and staff who dream big for a better future for all children. During my time here I have been mentored by many accomplished researchers who have taught me lots about good research and how to make that research count – partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and strong policy relationships to push for evidence-based practices and policy. I am eager to take these lessons forward to continue making impacts in the lives of the families and youth we study.”
The AYM team thanks Kate for her amazing work over the past year and wishes her the best at the University of Guelph!
