2023 Longitudinal CHSCY Data Release

As of today, the 2023 Longitudinal data from the Canadian Health Survey on Children and Youth (CHSCY) has been released to Research Data Centres (RDCs) across Canada.

We are delighted to be leading a national research team, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, to initiate this longitudinal survey of children’s health in partnership with Statistics Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. We are excited to begin our collaborative work using this data to address important questions related to changes in child and youth health over the past 4 years.

The 2023 Longitudinal CHSCY followed-up of a nationally representative sample of children aged 1-17 years in 2019, and who will be between 5-21 years old in 2023.

Data collection for the study took place from March to June 2023. Data from this longitudinal survey will contribute to a better understanding of how child and youth health changed over the past 4 years, and in particular, over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.
